The Edmonton Oilers and Leon Draisaitl are just one win away from reaching back-to-back Stanley Cup finals after defeating Dallas Stars 4-1 in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals on Tuesday.
What was Leon Draisaitl's message after Game 4 victory against Dallas Stars?
After winning Game 4 Draisaitl shared his thoughts and said that he knew Dallas Stars would be desperate. Not just this, he even described the game as a big momentum shifting moment as the Oilers handled it decently despite being under the pump early on in the game.
We knew they were going to be desperate. It's a big momentum-shifting game, Draisaitl said postgame. I thought we handled it okay. Obviously, we were underwater a little bit there, but handled it okay. Then we got our legs and started to play a little bit.
When asked about closing out the series in the next game, Leon Draisaitl said that it would be very hard as the Stars would be desperate. But, he feels that the Edmonton Oilers need to match the Dallas Stars' intensity and are eyeing to close it out.
Really hard. They're going to be desperate. We know that, but we got to obviously match that. Looking to close it out, he added.
There is a high chance that there might be a repeat of 2024 Stanley Cup final between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers. Both the teams are currently leading in their respective Conference finals series 3-1.
In 2024, the Edmonton Oilers were trailing 3-0 in the seven game series but managed to push it to the last and decisive game, where the Panthers got the better off Oilers as they lifted the Stanley Cup.
