After disqualifying from the final of the 50 kg freestyle wrestling event at the ongoing edition of the Paris Olympics 2024 due to being 100 grams overweight. Vinesh Phogat had appealed against her disqualification with CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sports). The Indian star also announced her retirement from wrestling. Phogat was the first ever Indian women wrestler who has qualified for the final.
When will Vinesh Phogat's hearing take place?
Vinesh Chopra's hearing will take place on August 9 at 1:30 pm IST tomorrow. However, there is no surety that their will be any result from that hearing. Four lawyers from France will represent Indian wrestler. India's Harish Salve and Vidhushpat Singhania (sports law expert) will be bereifing India's Olympic finalist.
“For the hearing at 1:30pm IST tomorrow. The 4 pro bono French lawyers will represent Vinesh Phogat. Harish Salve and Vidhushpat Singhania (sports law expert) will be part of the case as amicus curae brief (in short- as friends of the court)” told a source close to Sports Tak.

When will judge announce their verdict?
"The verdict may come tomorrow. But incase the judge feels he/she needs to hear more then there can be another date given. But in most CAS cases the verdict comes on the same day" added the source.
Vinesh Phogat's lawyers
Joelle Monlouis, Estelle Ivanova, Habbine Estelle Kim, and Charles Amson are the names of the four lawyers who will be addressing Vinesh Phogat at the CAS hearing. They are pro bono lawyers with the Paris Bar for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
