Paris Olympics 2024 is going to be the biggest event of this year. This event is being organised by France. The Games will start from 26 July followed by an opening ceremony. For the first time in the history of the Olympic Summer Games, the opening ceremony will not be organised in any stadium. France has made different preparations for this and it will be held within the city. The athletes' parade will take place on the Seine River and everyone will sit in their boat and raise the flag of their country. There will be cameras on each boat for a better experience for those fans who are witnessing the action from their homes.  Paris will be the centre for sports around the world for a month. Most Olympics hosted by a nation

Paris have joined London in terms of hosts of the Olympics. Paris hosted two editions of the Olympics in 1900 and 1924. Now after the 2024 Olympics, Paris will join London as the country that hosted most Olympics. London hosted the Olympics in 1908, 1948 and 2012.

 

Paris to begin action on the same date as 1924 Olympics closing Ceremony

Paris hosted the Olympics for the second time in 1924. The opening ceremony was on July 5 but the competitions had already begun on May 4. The closing ceremony of the 1924 Paris Olympics was held on July 27, 1924. So, after 100 years, Paris is once again ready for the Olympic Games and the closing ceremony for the third time.

 

Unique opening ceremony 

The opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics will be unique because that will take place on the Seine River in France. Every country will have their own boat with their respective flag. This will be a six-kilometre parade.  

 

New game 'Breaking' to be included in the upcoming edition

The 2024 Summer Olympics will feature breaking (also known as b-boying, b-girling or breakdancing) in two medal events, one for men and one for women, with 16 "b-boys" and "b-girls" competing against each other.


Iconic place for Volleyball

Beach volleyball will be held at the Champ de Mars (under the Eiffel Tower), urban sports will be held at La Concorde, fencing and taekwondo at the Grand Palace, and the marathon will start at the Hotel de Ville.

 

Unique medal for winners

Each Olympic and Paralympic medal will use an original iron piece from the Eiffel Tower. Made between 1887 and 1889, the "Dame de Fer" has undergone several alterations since then. In the process, some metal elements have been permanently removed and preserved. For the Paris 2024 Games, the Eiffel Tower operating company is giving these original pieces of Parisian and French history a chance to regain their glory.

If you are going to Paris and you do not know how to speak French, then there will be more than 3000 translation devices installed in the Paris Metro. The Paris transit system is called RATP. The cost of the Paris Olympics 2024 will be 450 billion. This money will be spent on sports villages, stadiums, organizing the event, officials, and various facilities for players. Ticket prices

Around 10 million tickets will be available for sale for the Paris 2024 Olympics and around 3.4 million tickets for the Paralympics. All will be sold through a single website. Ticket prices for all Olympic sports at Paris 2024 will start at Rs 2,200, and the lowest price for all Paralympic sports will be Rs 1,300.

 

23,000 athletes in the Olympic Village

The Olympic Village will have complete facilities for every athlete. A total of 14,000 Olympic athletes will stay there and after this 9,000 more Paralympic athletes will also join. During this time, there will be food, nutrition, a 24-hour fitness centre, and different types of facilities.
