Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that Amit Rohidas and Kishore Jena will be rewarded INR 15 lakh for representing India in the upcoming Paris Olympics. Rohidas will be the part of Indian hockey team in the multi national event and Kishore Jena will be seen with Neeraj Chopra in Javelin throw.
Olympics 2024 is scheduled to start from July 26 followed by a unique opening ceremony in Paris.
Majhi said Jena and Rohidas have made their native places as well as the entire state proud by qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
The effort, willpower, hard work, dedication and perseverance displayed by the two sportspersons will inspire young and budding talents in the state, he said.
"There is no dearth of sports talents in Odisha and the state government is committed to providing the required infrastructure, financial support and all other facilities at the grassroots level for the all-round development of such talents in every corner of the state," he added.
Indian hockey team were the bronze medallist in the last edition of the Games hosted by Tokyo.

India's hockey schedule in the Paris Olympics
Indian hockey team led by Harmanpreet Singh will feature on 27 July where they will face New Zealand in their first match of the marquee event. Their second match will be against Argentina on July 29 which is scheduled to be played at 4.15 PS IST and their third match will be against Ireland on 30 July. After that, the Men in Blue will face Belgium on 1st August. India's last match before the quarterfinal will be against Australia on August 2.
Javelin throw round in Paris Olympics 2024
Kishore Jena will be in action on August 6 for the Men’s Javelin Throw qualification round and if he qualifies for the next round then he will be seen again in action on August 8. The final of the Javelin throw will be scheduled for August 10.
