Paris Olympics 2024 is scheduled to start from July 26.

India will send a contingent of 124 athletes.

After registering the most successful campaign in the last edition of the Olympics which was hosted by Japan in Tokyo. India won seven medals in the games including one gold, two silver and four bronze. Soon after the last edition of the Olympics, the Indian government started working on the grassroots level to promote sports. The government also helped most of the athletes to train in foreign on their expense. Here's the list of players and his much it costs the nation for their training for the multinational event. 

 

The renowned athletes who have already qualified for the Olympic games are currently practising in countries like America, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Russia etc. The majority of players are training abroad under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme for world-class preparation. While others are taking training through private companies.

 

According to a report by TOI. The Indian government have spent a whooping 17.9 crore INR for the athletes. The government spent 6.25 crore INR on athletics and  Rs 5.77 crore was spent on Badminton, shooting and badminton got 1.57 and 3.83 crore INR respectively.

Most Athletes trained in America

 

Most of the Indian athletes (29) have trained in America and some of them are still training in States. Seven Athletes were trained in Germany, France and Spain. Four athletes were trained in Italy, three each in Britain-Hungary, Australia and South Korea, and six were trained in Monaco, South Africa and Turkey (2 in a country).

How much money was spent on which player

 

Among the players who participated in the Paris Olympics, the highest amount was spent on the training of Neeraj Chopra. Rs 48.76 lakh was spent on him. Neeraj spent 176 days abroad and trained in South Africa, Finland, Germany and Turkey. Rs 33.07 lakh was spent on wrestler Vinesh Phogat and she trained abroad for 97 days. Vinesh practised in Bulgaria, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Spain and France.
