Paris Olympics 2024 is scheduled to start from 26th July. 10500 athletes from 206 countries will participate in the marquee event and the host nation will take care of all the participants for that they need security and volunteers to handle the things for the multinational event. The host will hire more than 45,000 volunteers to take care of the athletes, guide the fans and help them. Although they will not be able to see any event properly, but yes, they will be able to feel the players and the game very closely.
Volunteers are needed to take spectators to the stands, welcome athletes to the game Village, transport competitors and officials to venues in minibuses or cars, set up starting blocks at track and field events, collect tennis balls, as well as distribute equipment such as radios, headsets and uniforms. About 45,000 volunteers are recruited for each Olympics, and organizing committees begin their search about two years before each event.
The last date for filing submissions for the volunteering programme was 3 May 2023. The organising committee then reviews the applications and informs the applicants
All the work is done in these 5 steps
1. Apply

5. Skills.
How can you apply for volunteering?
To apply, volunteers must be at least 18 years old on January 1, 2024. Second, they must also be able to legally travel to France during the Games. Although US citizens will need a passport to enter France, they do not need a visa as tourists and are allowed to stay for a maximum of 90 days. Since French and English are the official languages of the Games, volunteers need a good command of at least one of them.
These skills will work as a bonus
Although most volunteer roles do not require any special talent, some roles require additional knowledge of a foreign language, driving license or some important sports. During the application process, if a volunteer has such skills, he gets an advantage in the further process. For example, if the volunteer has a diploma or any other degree, he will be selected faster than others and will get a chance to participate in bigger events.
Time and location
Volunteers will be needed from the opening of the Athletes Village on July 12, 2024, until September 10, 2024, which is two days after the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games. Volunteers do not need to be available during that entire time, but priority will be given to those who can commit to volunteering for at least 10 days during those two months. Volunteers will also be asked which places they can travel to, as the Paris 2024 Games will not just take place in Paris. Venues are located throughout mainland France in destinations including Bordeaux, Chateauroux, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice and Saint-Etienne. (The surfing competitions will take place in Tahiti, a French overseas territory.) To help applicants choose a location, the Games have created a map of the different geographic clusters.
Drawbacks of Volunteering the Paris Olympics 2024
Volunteers will be able to attend the games they are assigned to work in for free. However, there is no guarantee of attending big or special matches. Apart from this, you will not get money from the Olympic Games to come to France. Here every volunteer will have to spend his own money. However, travel and food in France will be free.
How to apply online?
It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete the online application on paris2024.org. Once the application is started, you can save it. In the first part, the volunteer's personal information is taken. In the second part, you are asked 180 questions in the form of a rapid-fire round. It takes 20 minutes. Most of the questions are related to skills. If a person passes it, then he is given further information and then he is called to Paris and told what he has to do. Here every volunteer has a different duty.
