The date of August 7 in the Paris Olympics 2024 can be historic for India. There are big events in weightlifting, wrestling, and athletics. Among these, Indian players are contenders for winning medals. Medals will be expected from Mirabai Chanu in weightlifting, Vinesh Phogat in wrestling, and Panghal in the final. Chanu had created history by winning silver in the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. Vinesh is responsible for bringing the first medal of this edition in wrestling. The young wrestler is a medal candidate in the final 53 kg category. In athletics, Avinash Sable will enter the final of 3000 meter steeplechase. Like the Commonwealth Games 2022, here too Indian fans will expect a charismatic performance from him.
Indian athletes will compete in many different events in athletics. These include events of men's high jump, triple jump, women's javelin throw, and 100-meter hurdles. The women's event of golf will also start on August 7. Aditi Ashok, who missed the medal by a narrow margin in Tokyo, will try her luck once again. In table tennis, the women's team will face Germany in the quarter-finals.
