Highlights:

The Indian hockey team will face Germany in the semi-finals.

Neeraj Chopra and Vinesh Phogat will be in action for the first time.

India has so far won only three medals in the Paris Olympics 2024. But the day of 6th August will be very important for increasing this number. On this day, India will have a chance to decide the medal in hockey, while its two biggest athletes will compete in men's javelin events and wrestling, who are strong contenders for the medal. Neeraj Chopra will enter the qualification in the javelin throw. Apart from him, Kishore Jena will also compete in this competition to make it to the finals. This is his first Olympics. Neeraj had won gold in Tokyo three years ago. He is India's biggest hope to win gold in Paris also. This will be the first time that two Indians will compete in the javelin event in the Olympics.

In hockey, the Indian team will face Germany in the semi-finals and will enter the field with the desire to go to the finals after 44 years. India last played the hockey final in 1980 and won gold. Vinesh Phogat's challenge will start in the women's category in wrestling. She had unexpectedly missed out on winning a medal in Tokyo. This time she will play in the 50 kg weight category.
