Indian sports fraternity started reacting after the star wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024 after she could not make the weight on the morning of her 50 kg gold medal bout. Vinesh was supposed to face USA's Sarah Ann Hildebrandt in the final who she had beaten twice on the international stage. Vinesh qualified for the final after defeating Japan’s Yui Susaki in the first round of the Women’s 50kg Freestyle even who was on an unbeaten streak of 82.
Indian cricket star likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan started reacting as the star was disqualified from the final of wrestling, here is how sports fraternity reacted after she got disqualifed.

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) released a statement confirming the disqualification, expressing deep regret: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the Women’s Wrestling 50kg category. Despite the team’s best efforts throughout the night, she weighed in a few grams over the 50kg limit this morning. At this time, no further comments will be made. We kindly request that Vinesh’s privacy be respected during this difficult period.”
