The Indian shooters continue their dominance on the highest Asian stage as Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan secured the top position in the Women's 25m Pistol Team event in Hangzhou on Wednesday, September 27. This is India's fourth Gold medal at the Asian Games — and second in shooting — as the trio won the country's second medal of the day.
Leading the line with 1759 points to their name, Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan beat hosts China to the gold medal. The Chinese opponents managed a close 1756 to secure the silver medal, while South Korea came third with 1742 points to their name.
The remarkable Manu led the qualifications, concluding the final rapid-fire series with a score of 98.
China secured the silver with a score of 1756, while the South Korean shooters took the bronze with 1742 points.
Shortly after another set of Indian shooters delivered a stellar performance to clinch a silver in the women's 50m rifle 3 position event, they claimed the top accolade.
Ashi Chouksey, Manini Koushik, and Sift Kaur Samra together amassed 1764 points in the qualifications, securing the second spot on the podium.
The host nation, China, clinched the gold with a combined score of 1773, and South Korea took home the bronze with 1756 points.
Both Samra and Chauksey made it to the finals, securing the second and sixth spots respectively. However, Kaushik exited the individual event, landing in the 18th position.
Sift achieved a score of 594, setting a new shared Asian qualification record.
