Many fans also drew comparisons between AEW’s deal with Amazon and WWE’s recent partnership with Netflix.

This deal marks a significant step in AEW’s expansion, providing an additional distribution channel and increasing exposure through Amazon’s massive user base.

Amazon Prime Video has officially entered the professional wrestling arena with a major deal involving WWE’s biggest competitor, All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The streaming giant has secured the rights to broadcast AEW’s live pay-per-view (PPV) events, starting with AEW Revolution on Sunday, March 9, 2025.

The newly announced multi-year partnership will allow fans in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom to purchase AEW PPV events through Prime Video. In the UK, each event will be priced at £19.99 for viewers.

AEW President Tony Khan expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, calling it a significant step in the company’s global expansion.

“We are thrilled to work with Prime Video to bring all AEW pay-per-view events to their incredible service, marking a major milestone in the continued expansion of AEW’s global reach,” Khan stated. “AEW pay-per-view events are consistently the most exciting professional wrestling events in the world, and fans will now be able to experience that firsthand through Prime Video.”

Mixed Reactions from Fans Over Pricing
Despite the deal’s potential to reach a wider audience, not all AEW fans are pleased with the pricing structure. Many had hoped that the PPVs would be included as part of their Prime Video subscription rather than requiring an additional purchase.

On social media, some fans expressed frustration over the extra costs.

A user on X, @marcometer, voiced disappointment: “In a world of streaming subscription services, nobody wants to pay $50 for a pay-per-view anymore. At least offer a discount to watch it on Prime, $25 – $35 would be reasonable. It’s 2025, not 1995.”

Similarly, @DMoneyNY42 remarked: “AEW needs to get with the times. No one is paying for a PPV. If it was included with Prime, sure I’d watch way more.”

 Comparisons to WWE’s Netflix Deal
Many fans also drew comparisons between AEW’s deal with Amazon and WWE’s recent partnership with Netflix. WWE’s agreement allows subscribers to access all programming, including live episodes of Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and monthly premium live events, at no additional cost beyond their regular subscription fee.

X user @whittyjack__ shared their perspective: “I’m in the UK and get all WWE PLEs included in my Netflix subscription. There’s no way I’d pay £19.99 on top of my Amazon Prime subscription for an AEW PPV. What a rip-off.”

A New Viewing Option for AEW Fans
Despite the backlash, the deal provides another way for fans to access AEW’s PPVs. In the U.S., AEW events will continue to be available via TrillerTV and on the streaming service Max. The Prime Video deal simply expands the accessibility for those who may not have these platforms.

Some fans defended the agreement, arguing that having AEW available on Prime Video increases visibility for the promotion.

What This Means for AEW’s Future
This deal marks a significant step in AEW’s expansion, providing an additional distribution channel and increasing exposure through Amazon’s massive user base. While some fans remain hesitant about the pricing model, the partnership with Prime Video reinforces AEW’s commitment to growing its global presence.

As AEW continues to compete with WWE for wrestling supremacy, this agreement could play a key role in its long-term strategy. Whether the pricing structure will evolve remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—AEW is making bold moves in the world of sports entertainment.
