In another victory for the Indian shooters, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka won the silver medal after a brilliant performance was overshadowed by Abdullah Alrashidi of Kuwait on Wednesday, September 27. Anant Jeet Singh broke the Games Record but fell short by 2 points as his opponent managed to shoot all 60 skeets on the way to the medal.
This was India's 22nd medal at the competition and the 12th for the shooting contingent, who continue to dominate in the ongoing Asian Games.
Anant Jeet Singh clinched his maiden individual medal in a significant multi-sport event, securing a silver finish. Earlier in the day in Hangzhou, Anant added another feather to his cap as he, along with teammates Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Khangura Gurjoat Siingh, bagged a bronze for the men's skeet team.
During the final, Anant Jeet Singh showcased impeccable skill, flawlessly hitting his targets in the initial 10 series. He only faltered slightly in the last 5 series, missing a mere two shots. While he consistently challenged Abdullah Alrashidi, the Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist remained unyielding, ensuring Anant settled for the silver.
This achievement marked India's 12th shooting medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, with Indian shooters making a significant mark on Wednesday's events in Hangzhou.
