Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha is unhappy with wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar seeking criminal action against Wrestlers Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh who has been accused of sexual harassment. Usha said that the wrestlers did not approach IOA over the matter and protests like these is not good for sport and amounts to indiscipline.

Meanwhile, a three-member adhoc committee comprising of Olympic athlete and Arjuna Awardee for shooting Suma Shirur and, Bhupendra Singh Bajwa and a retired High Court judge (name not revealed yet) has been formed to conduct WFI elections.

Earlier, BJP MP Brij Bhushan had claimed that he is innocent and will continue to fight.

"Friends, the day I reflect on my life, what I gained or lost, the day I feel I don't have the strength to fight, the day I feel helpless, I won't like to live a life like that. Instead of living such a life, I would wish that death embraces me," he said in a video message.

On April 26, in a press conference at Jantar Mantar, Rio Olymics bronze medallist Sakshi Singh had requested PM Modi to intervene.

“We request PM Modi to speak to us, hear our 'Mann ki Baat' and follow his own principle of ‘beti bachao, beto padhao’. You call us daughters when we win medals, invite us home. Today we are appealing so that you can listen to our 'Mann ki baat',” Rio Olympics 2016 bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik said in the press conference on April 26.

"We also request Smriti Irani for a response. Why are you quiet? We have been here for four days, sleeping with the mosquitoes. We are fighting for food, they are not letting us train in peace. We are waiting for justice," she added.

During the same press conference, Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Bajrang Punia alleged that he has been threatened by Brij Bhushan’s men to leave protest and go home.

"Brij Bhushan is claiming to be innocent. No one knows the identity of the assaulted minor. If that is the case then how are there people reaching her house and threatening her and her relatives. If he is innocent then why are they going to her house?" asked Punia.

"People have come to me and said, 'he (Brij) has killed his opponents on election day, so who are you? Now, we are being threatened as well," he added.
