The highly anticipated fight between UFC's biggest star Conor McGregor and dynamic Michael Chandler which was earlier scheduled to headline the UFC 303 PPV was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The former double champion had to ask for a postponement due to an undisclosed injury. Conor's SBG Ireland's teammate and renowned Light Heavyweight Johnny Walker talked about the reason for this sudden postponement just days before the fight.

Johnny Walker in an exclusive conversation with Sports Tak talked about the delay in Conor McGregor's fight. He said the Irishman is potentially dealing with an injury. He talked about how this sport has a toll on these athletes' bodies and sometimes it affects them a lot both physically and mentally.

"I think he had an injury. I think this is why he postponed the press conference and he tried to figure out a way to keep the fight going on, but you know, the sports is very vicious. You have to train really hard. For me, it's the hardest sports in the world because I have to train so many disciplines like boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, I have to sprint, I have to run, I have to do everything. So you ask so much for your body. They fight their minds, which is really strong, but sometimes we want to do something that our body cannot take and then we get a little angry. So this is the game," Walker told Sports Tak.

 

Johnny Walker eyes return to win column with clash against Volkan Oezdemir

 

Johnny Walker is set to return to action with the Light Heavyweight clash against Volkan Oezdemir. They will be playing on the Main Card of the UFC Fight Night - Robert Whittaker vs Ikram Aliskerov which will be held in Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 23. Khamzat Chimaev was supposed to headline this even with Robert but had to pull out due to health issues. Indian fans can watch these fights on Sony Sports Network.

 

Walker is coming into this match after competing in two matches against Magaomed Ankalaev. Their first match ended in no contest after Walker was hit with an illegal knee. However, Walker suffered a loss in the rematch, which also ended his three-match win streak.
