UFC commentator Joe Rogan weighs in on the situation of Conor McGregor.

Joe Rogan is the host of one of the most popular podcasts on the internet.

Rogan has witnessed the career of Conor McGregor closely.

After reaching the stage where it looked almost certain that Conor McGregor would mark his UFC return, it is all back to square one now, where one could once again anticipate whether the Irishman will ever grace the Octagon again or not. While the uncertainty may linger with several fight enthusiasts the promotion's famed commentator Joe Rogan is not a part of that section. According to Rogan, there are realistic chances that the fight fraternity has already seen the last of the Notorious inside the ring. McGregor hasn't returned to action since sustaining the excruciating foot injury in 2021 against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

Joe Rogan's Blunt Take On Conor McGregor's Return

Elaborating his opinion, Joe Rogan touched upon various factors before drawing a conclusion. The podcaster weighed in on the training aspect of a fighter and how a fighter copes with the final phase of his career when he has already endured significant number of shots to his head.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Podcast, he said:

I don’t know if Conor’s ever gonna fight again. I don’t know the real details of that case. I know his version of it and her version of it and what played out in the court. But the reality is that guy’s partying, and he’s partying real hard. And he talked about it in the court case. He’s talking about (doing) cocaine.

Joe Rogan further noted:

But I think there’s another issue to talk about, and that is that a lot of fighters, when they’ve sustained a significant amount of damage over the course of their career - and there’s no way to not get that. We’ve all seen Conor get beat up and knocked out. We’ve seen Conor’s sparring footage. He’s sparring pro boxers, he’s sparring elite fighters, you’re getting hit in the head a lot. And a lot of fighters, especially toward the end of their career, turn to drugs. And I think there’s probably a constant state of discomfort that they live in... you’re not supposed to get punched in the head a thousand times a year. It’s just not supposed to happen, and that’s the reality of consistent training.
