The wrestling icon Bobby Lashley whose run with WWE came to an end after the professional wrestling giant moved his profile to the alumni section on its official website, which was a sign that the former WWE champion is no longer a part of their active roster. Now following his departure with the promotion, the 48-year-old has revealed his plans for the future and the offers he has been receiving from various organisations. He even indicated a potential return to the world of combat sports.
Previously, Lashley used to compete at Bellator and Strikeforce during his last period away from the WWE. He also kept wrestling with different promotions. He is currently seeing fighting, wrestling, and even a potential run in boxing for his future. Lashley is well-known for his jacked physique that doesn't give the idea to people that he is a 48 years old. He has an MMA record of 15-2 and reportedly at one point was even being considered by the UFC, prior to picking Bellator with whom he had his last pro-MMA bout in 2016.
I’m doing it all. I look at it this way — first of all, YOLO, you only live once but I have a lot of gas in the tank. I’m in great shape. I feel good. I’m motivated. I’m rested. Wrestling, yes. Boxing, yes, MMA, yes. Acting, yes. Everything, yes. But I have a lot of different things going on right now," said Lashley on The Bo and Them Show in Dallas.

Lashley's pro wrestling career is his most well-known accomplishment, as he first rose to prominence in the WWE in 2005. He kept wrestling in different promotions after his stint with WWE came to an end in 2008 prior to pursuing the choice to try out MMA. Lashley had an amateur wrestling background that also included three NAIA national championships, Lashley burned through no time having an effect in MMA, ordering an ideal 5-0 record to begin his career. He then endorsed with Strikeforce and got a win over UFC veteran Wes Sims in his debut but suffered a loss against another UFC veteran Chad Griggs in his second fight with the promotion.
Lashley kept on competing in the world of MMA over a long time, which ultimately got him with Bellator in 2014, where he amassed another unbeaten 5-0 record. He eventually put fighting on the backseat in 2018 when he got the chance to get back to WWE. However, he sounds prepared to tie on the gloves once more, albeit an alternate combat sport might have also caught his attention this time around.
“A boxing company called me and offered me a legit matchup. So we’re in talks with them, so I’ve been training boxing. I love boxing. MMA is a possibility. Just depending on [what offers come]. Wrestling, I still want to wrestle. I love wrestling and the fans write me everyday, ‘When are you coming back? Where are you going? I don’t care where you go, we want to be there for you.’ So, I love the fans," Lashley concluded.
