The professional wrestling world is mourning and grieving the loss of Sidney Raymond Eudy who was renowned across the world with his in-ring names Sycho Sid or Sid Vicious. He has died at the age of 63 years after a long battle with Cancer. Through a touching Facebook post paying tribute to the wrestler legend, his son Gunnar Eudy announced the sad news. Sid Vicious was a household name to anyone who used to consume WCW or WWE. His height and strength gave him a stand-out persona in the ring. His commitment and contribution to the game are unforgettable. Wrestlers and fans will always remember and cherish the icon that inspired countless people.

Details for a memorial service will be shared soon. Thank you for your support," Sidney Raymond Eudy's son Gunnar expressed himself in an emotional message.

 

Sycho Sid's iconic career

 

Sid Vicious stood apart as one of professional wrestling's most intimidating and stand-out individuals. Standing at 6'9, his towering figure and strong presence turned into a characterizing element of his iconic career. He got his breakthrough or shining moment in 1989 when he joined with WCW, and competed against business' top stars, like The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors, and The Four Horsemen. In 1991, Sid made his much-awaited debut in WWE under the name Sid Justice. He burned through no time establishing himself, filling in as the Special Guest Referee at SummerSlam, where WWE Champion Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior joined forces to take on The Triangle of Terror in an exhilarating 3-on-2 Handicap Match.

 

Sid got back to the WWE in 1995 after a short hiatus repackaged as 'Sycho Sid'. He at first aligned with Shawn Michaels, playing as his bodyguard as HBK challenged Diesel for the WWE Title at WrestleMania XI. When Sid defeated Michaels for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series 1996, that alliance quickly turned into a fierce rivalry.Sid’s dominance continued into the beginning of 1997 when he held onto the WWE Title in a match against Bret Hart, further establishing his status as one of the most scary and energizing superstar the WWE has at any point known.
 

However, Sid was also the WCW World Heavyweight Champion twice, in addition to his success in WWE. He was one of the faces of some of the greatst and iconic wrestling shows in history, including WrestleMania VIII, WrestleMania XIII, and even the last WCW Starrcade back in 2000. In 2001, he suffered a terrible leg injury in the ring while competing against Scott Steiner, which dented his career. Regardless of that, Sid irregularly showed up in the ring, his last match being in 2017.
