Novak Djokovic, who has won 24 Grand Slams throughout his illustrious career, will be soon making a comeback on the court. Djokovic recently suffered an injury during his semifinal clash against Alexander Zverev in the recently concluded Australian Open 2025.

When will Novak Djokovic return back on the court?

It was initially suspected that Djokovic might not be able to return for a few months due to a torn thigh muscle. However, that's not the case anymore as a new report claims that the Serbian has undergone multiple screenings and recovery sessions in Belgrade. Djokovic might return to the court in about two weeks.

He was looking in real pain in his clash against Carlos Alcaraz, in the quarterfinals of Australian Open 2025. He took MTO during the first set and after that, he made a sensational comeback to defeat the Spaniard 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.

He had two days rest leading up to his semifinal clash against Zverev. He might as well dreamt of winning his 12th Australian Open and his 25th overall but that was not the case as he had to retire after the first set.

The 37-year-old is on his way back to full recovery and according to Sportal, he might be seen in action in Middle East at the ATP 500 tournament in Doha. The event is scheduled to start from February 17.

Novak Djokovic's father wants him to retire

Novak Djokovic is considered to the one of the greatest athletes who have graced respected games in their fields. He is still going strong at 37.

While he puts up strong performances every time he steps his feet on the court, his dad Srdjan Djokovic has a different opinion. In an interview with GQ Sports, Djokovic spoke about how his dad is trying to convince him to hang up his boots from tennis.

And I don’t know if he’s going to be happy with me to say this, but I’m going to say it anyway. It starts with my dad. My dad is trying to retire me for a while now, he said.

But he hasn’t been pushy. He respects my decision to keep going. And of course he understands why I want to keep going, but he’s like: What else do you want to do?

It will be interesting to see how long Djokovic plays in his career. But, one thing is for certain that he will put his A-game every time he returns back to the court.
