Novak Djokovic is set to make an early return to the Tennis this month. Djokovic's bid for the 25th Grand Slam title was prolonged as a leg injury forced him to retire in the semi-final of the Australian Open 2025.
Following the injury, Djokovic kept quiet on his potential return. He said at the time: "I did everything I possibly can to basically manage the muscle tear that I had. "Towards the end of that first set, I just started feeling more and more pain. It was too much, I guess, to handle for me at the moment. Unfortunate ending, but I tried."
It now looks as though Djokovic will be back on court soon, but when is he returning and will Andy Murray still be on his coaching team?
Djokovic looks set to play at the ATP 500 Qatar Open in Doha, which starts on February 17.
It will be the first time that Djokovic has played the tournament since 2018. He defended his title a year before in 2017, beating Murray, who was then world No. 1, in the final.
Djokovic pulled out of Davis Cup duty with Serbia following his injury at the Australian Open but has said his recovery is going well.
"There is no more rupture in the muscle, the injury is almost 100% repaired and I am ready to go to work for more victories," the 37-year-old told newspaper Vijesti.
"I have the green light from the medical team that I can train, that I can prepare. The tournament in Doha is scheduled for seven days now so I’m sticking to the schedule."
Djokovic recently announced the decision to extend his partnership with Andy Murray till Wimbledon. Thus, coach Murray is set to be present alongside Djokovic. What do you think can this partnership end the Setb's wait for the 25th major title of his career.
