Andy Murray Has Joined Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells

Andy Murray has joined Novak Djokovic's coaching staff for the upcoming Indian Wells and Miami Open events. This coach-player duo generated headlines at the Australian Open, where Djokovic advanced to the semi-finals before retiring due to injury.

Novak Djokovic, the five-time Indian Wells champion, last won the tournament in 2016. Similarly, his most recent Miami Open triumph dated back to 2016. Murray, who retired from competitive tennis following the 2024 Paris Olympics, has turned to coaching, bringing his significant knowledge to Djokovic's staff.

Their rekindled alliance hopes to bolster Djokovic's performance in the upcoming U.S. events, which begin this week at Indian Wells and the Miami Open commencing on March 19. Djokovic lost to Berrettini at the Qatar Open in February.

Djokovic and Murray have met 36 times, with Djokovic leading 25-11. Their battle has been one of the most memorable in tennis, with both players reaching the summit of the sport.

Murray decided to join Djokovic's coaching staff after the latter parted ways with Goran Ivanisevic. Murray's strategic intellect and extensive experience are expected to provide crucial insights as Djokovic attempts to recover his dominance in the upcoming tournaments.

The Murray-Djokovic collab is set to continue indefinitely, as following the Australian Open, the two are certain to team up till the French Open 2025 and could extend till Wimbledon. So far both Djokovic and Murray have expressed satisfaction with each other's work, and the duo could fetch the elusive 25th Grand Slam title in the bag of the Serb.
