During the 91st AGM of the BCCI, the board members decided on the next president of India's apex cricket council.

After much deliberation and speculation, former India bowler Roger Binny was appointed as the BCCI president.

This is the first time in the BCCI's 94-year-history, a former India player has been replaced by another.

Binny was appointed as the President of the BCCI after Sourav Ganguly's 3-year tenure come to an end.

Ganguly was the first former cricketer in 65 years to become a full-time president when he was elected in 2019.

Meanwhile, Binny was in the 1983 World Cup-winning side and has also served as the president of the Karnataka Cricket Association.

Maharajkumar of Vizianagram, fondly known as Vizzy, was the first India Test player to head the BCCI, serving from 1954 to 1957.

Former captain Sunil Gavaskar was named the interim chief in 2014, appointed by the Supreme Court to oversee IPL 7.
