Finch scored 44-ball 63 against Ireland in Brisbane in ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

Finch equalled George Bailey's record of highest score by Australian captain in T20 World Cup history.

Bailey scored 29-ball 63 against West Indies in unsuccessful run chase in T20 World Cup 2012 semi-final.

Finch is also the third Australian captain to score a half-century in T20 World Cup.

In 2016 edition of T20 World Cup, Steve Smith scored an unbeaten 61 against Pakistan in Mohali.

Finch hit 3 sixes in his 63-run knock to surpass Chris Gayle's tally of sixes in T20Is.

Now, Finch is ranked third in the list below Rohit Sharma (182) and Martin Guptill (173) with 125 sixes from 103 appearances.

This was Finch's third fifty in T20 World Cups and 19th overall. For Australia, only David Warner has more half-centuries (24).
