Iyer hit 15 fours in his unbeaten knock of 113 off 111 balls on Sunday, giving him entry into Kohli's special club.
Iyer is just the second Indian batter after Kohli to score a century in ODIs in Ranchi.
Kohli scored 123 against Australia in 2019 and 139 not out against Sri Lanka in 2014.
Apart from Virat Kohli, Sri Lanka's Angelo Mathews and Usman Khawaja have also scored centuries at this venue. Iyer is the fourth player to score a century here.
