Back in form

Many people thought that Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was out of form but his century against England silenced the critics.

When did it happen?

During the second match of their T20I series, Babar smashed 110 runs off just 66 balls as Pakistan beat England by 10 wickets.

With this century, Babar has equalised the record for the most centuries for a captain in the T20I format of the game.
Here is the full list.

What is the record?

Azam's first century as T20I skipper came in 2021 against South Africa, scoring 122 runs. He is just the second player to hit two T20I centuries as captain.

Rohit has 4 T20I tons and 2 as skipper. His 1st as captain came in 2017 against Sri Lanka, and the 2nd vs West Indies in 2018.

The former South African skipper Faf du Plessis smashed his only T20I century while captaining his team against West Indies.

Not many players hit tons in losing causes. But Watson's only T20I ton as a captain was hit during a loss to India in 2016.

Former Sri Lanka skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan is the final player on the list. His ton in a win over Australia in 2011 was the first for a captain in this format.
