New Zealand suffered a seven-wicket loss in their 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal match against Pakistan on Wednesday, November 10.
Their batters faltered yet again, with the exception of Daryl Mitchell, who scored 53 runs off 35 balls.
This is Mitchell's second consecutive half-century in the knock-outs of the T20 World Cup.
His unbeaten 72 vs England in the 2021 T20 World ushered the team into the final against Australia.
Only Virat Kohli has more half-centuries in this stage of the competition, with three to his name.
Mitchell is not the only player to have two half-centuries in the knockout phase of the T20 World Cup.
He is joined by former Windies opener Chris Gayle, his teammate Marlon Samuels, Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, and former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi.
New Zealand's dismal record vs Pakistan in the knockout stage of ICC tournaments continues, having beaten them in all semifinals!
