March 27, 2023 South Africa will play two ICC World Cup qualifier 50-over games against the Netherlands on March 31 and April 2
None of South African top players will be available for their respective IPL sides in the first couple of games.
Hence, Lucknow Super Giants will be missing their regular opener Quinton de Kock.
LSG will take on Delhi Capitals on April 1 and then fly to Chennai for their next game against Chennai Super Kings.
According to PTI, in absence of de Kock, West Indies southpaw Kyle Mayers might open the batting with KL Rahul.
If not Mayers then Deepak Hooda might be promoted to the top of the order.
Hooda has already scored a century for India opening the innings in T20 cricket.
Mayers is also an enforcer at the top of the order and can complement Rahul well at the top.
