Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was active on Instagram recently to change his display picture
Dhoni's new display picture was to commemorate Independence Day. It was the tricolour flag of India, and also had a line written in Sanskrit.
In the photo posted by Dhoni, the following verse was written — Dhanya: Asmit Bharatvain. This means- I am lucky that I am Indian.
Before making this change, MS Dhoni had a photo of his parachute jump as his display picture. He did this jump during his time with the Parachute Regiment of the army.
Dhoni is not very active on social media. He last posted a video on Instagram in January 2021.
MS Dhoni has 39.2 million followers on Instagram. He is the second most followed cricketer.
Dhoni also has a close relationship with the army. He is part of the Territorial Army. He has also served and lived in Kashmir.
When Dhoni received the Padma Vibhushan in the year 2018, he went to receive the honour wearing the uniform of the army.
During the 2019 World Cup, Dhoni wore special wicketkeeping gloves which donned the badge of his regiment.
MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on 15 August 2020. He last played for India at the 2019 World Cup.
