India's poor form at big stages continued as they lost the WTC final to Australia by 209 runs.

Australia set a big target of 444 runs for India to chase on Saturday (June 10) but the batters failed.

Here are five reasons for their loss:

POOR DECISION AT TOSS
Choosing to bowl first in the WTC final was the first bad choice by skipper Rohit Sharma over the five days.

OMITTING ASHWIN IN BIG GAME
Rohit shocked all after dropping R Ashwin and went with four seamers and one spinner combination.

BATTING FIASCO
Barring Ajinkya Rahane, the much-vaunted batting lineup of India totally faltered at the bigger stage.

LISTLESS BOWLING
India's ineffective bowling in the 2nd innings was laid bare which allowed Aussie batters to pile a big total on the first 2 days.

JASPRIT BUMRAH'S ABSENCE
India missed pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who is struggling with a back injury and was ruled out of the WTC Final.
