India suffered a shocking 10-wicket defeat at the hands England in the T20 World Cup semifinal on Thursday (November 10).
The Men in Blue failed to break their knock-out jinx and once again crashed at the bigger stage.
Let's have a look at the factors which contributed to India's downfall in the T20 World Cup 2022.
Flop show in Powerplay: The sluggish batting in the powerplays was one of the reasons behind India's fiasco. The questionable Indian openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma failed to click with the bat on most occasions in the T20 WC 2022.

Dearth of pace attack: The Indian bowling attack dearly missed the pace of Jasprit Bumrah, who was injured. Mohammed Shami was named as Bumrah's replacement but didn't pose much threat to any of the teams.
Over-reliance on senior players: Rohit Sharma is 35, Kohli is 34, Suryakumar Yadav is 32, Dinesh Karthik is 37, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar both are 32. Barring Kohli, none of these players performed at the level they were expected to.
Reluctance to play wrist-spinners: Yuzvendra Chahal, the only wrist-spinner, didn't get a chance to play in the six matches that India played. Both Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel were persisted with for the entire length of the tournament.
Pant-Karthik imbroglio: The confusion to make a choice between Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik kept pestering India big time. While Pant featured in just two matches, Karthik played four matches and both misfired.
