IND vs AUS: Axar Patel leaves skipper Rohit Sharma behind after Ahmedabad heroics

Axar Patel has scored 50-plus score for the third time in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series.

With this, Axar has left behind his own captain Rohit Sharma in terms of scoring runs in the four-match Test series against Australia.

Axar achieved this feat on the fourth day of the Ahmedabad Test on Sunday (March 12).

Rohit Sharma has so far scored 242 runs in 6 innings as his highest score remains 120 in the ongoing Border Gavaskar series.

Meanwhile, Axar Patel has scored a total of 264 runs in 5 innings with an average of 88 in this series.

With 333 runs Australia's Usman Khawaja is the leading scorer in the ongoing series while Virat Kohli is no.2 in the list with 297 runs.

Axar shared a 162-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Virat Kohli in the fourth and last Test of the Border Gavaskar series 2023.

However, Axar failed to score a century on Day 4 as Mitchell Starc dismissed him on the score of 79 runs.
