For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan shared a 51-run partnership with Mustafizur Rahman for the 10th wicket and ensured a famous one-wicket win over India in the first ODI.
India maintained a very slow over-rate in the first ODI and on December 05 (Monday) and Rohit Sharma & Co. were heavily penalised.
India were fined 80% of their match fees for maintaining a slow over-rate.
According to the match referee, India were behind by four hours, which is a huge lapse.
Indian bowlers showed some spirited display and hunted in packs in an attempt to defend a low total but it wasn’t enough.
With 136/9 and 51 more runs needed from 63 deliveries, Mehidy batted with great composure.
When Hasan was playing for 15 runs, wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul dropped his catch.
India and Bangladesh will now lock horns in the second ODI on December 05 (Wednesday).
