IPL 2023: Trent Boult's fiery first over antics adds him to special list of bowlers

April 3, 2023 Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Trent Boult has emerged as the biggest threat to batters over the years in the IPL.
He has dismissed two batters in the first over thrice in the IPL.
He has done this twice for Rajasthan and once for Mumbai. No other bowler has been able to achieve this feat more than twice.
Praveen Kumar, Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav are the other bowlers who have managed to take two wickets in the first over twice in IPL.
Trent Boult and Sohail Tanvir are the only two bowlers who have taken two wickets in the first over four times in T20 cricket.
Boult is now second in terms of taking the most wickets in the first over. He has got 17 wickets in 69 overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is at the forefront with 20 wickets in 100 overs. Apart from these, Praveen Kumar took 15 wickets and Sandeep Sharma took 13 wickets.
Boult is the highest wicket-taker in the first over since IPL 2020 with 17 dismissals.
In comparison, since IPL 2020, Jofra Archer and Mukesh Chaudhary have taken five wickets each. Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have taken four wickets each.
