Over the years, India has had some of the best T20I batters in the game. Players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan ruled their opponents.
With many of veterans entering the twilight of their careers, India are getting some new stars in T20I cricket, like Shubman Gill and Deepak Hooda.
But one player who has risen to the occasion is Suryakumar Yadav, who is quickly becoming India's go-to player in the middle order.
Suryakumar entered the list for the most T20I runs for India in a calendar year, but can he overtake the three on top?
Here is a list he might yet dominate!
The India opener was a reliable bet in the T20I format for India, forming a deadly partnership with Rohit Sharma at the top of India's batting line-up.
Second on the list is Virat Kohli, who scored 641 T20I runs for India in 2016 alone! It was one of Kohli's best years with the bat for India.
The current India captain smashed 590 runs in 2018 for India in the shortest format, the most by an Indian batter in that year.
His brilliant 50 against Hong Kong pushed him to 4th on this list and with a lot more T20I matches yet to be played this year, he can easily move to the top.
Rohit makes it to this list for a second consecutive time. He scored 497 runs in 2016, more than 100 runs behind Kohli's 641 runs in the same year.
