Raina's retirement

Former Indian batter and Indian Premier League (IPL) stalwart Suresh Raina has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Raina will not even be seen in the IPL or domestic cricket. He said his goodbyes to international cricket along with MS Dhoni on 15 August 2020.

Suresh Raina did not find any buyers in the IPL 2022 mega auction. After this, he has also said his goodbyes to IPL and domestic cricket.

Suresh Raina has informed BCCI and Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association officials about his decision. He has said that he will not be playing in India anymore.

After IPL, Raina will hopefully be seen in T20 leagues of South Africa, Sri Lanka and UAE. Franchisees from different countries will have shown interest in Raina.

Can play in foreign leagues

The former Indian batter will also be a part of the Road Safety World Series starting September 10 alongside the likes of Rahul Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar.

Raina was a part of the 2011 World Cup winning team under MS Dhoni. He has represented India in 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20 Internationals. He played for India for 13 years.

His career

Raina has scored 5615 runs in 226 ODIs and 1605 runs in 78 T20 Internationals for India. Raina, is also the first Indian to score a century in all three formats.

Raina, who was the backbone of the Chennai Super Kings for 12 years, is the fourth highest run-scorer in IPL history with 5,528 runs in 205 matches. He has scored 4,687 runs for CSK alone.

Everyone knows about Raina and Dhoni's friendship. Raina has now left Dhoni's team as well. These two cricketers will never be seen with each other again!
