Nathan Lyon's consistent wicket-taking key to Australia's WTC victory

June 12, 2023 Off-spinner Nathan Lyon played a key role in Australia's victory during the 2021-23 WTC cycle.
He was exceptional with the ball and went on to scalp the most wickets in the tournament.
He finished with 88 wickets, including 5 in the WTC final against India.
In just 20 Tests, Lyon took 88 wickets, averaging just 26.12.
No other bowler managed to cross 70 wickets in the tournament.
Coming second is South Africa's Kagiso Rabada, with 67 wickets in the cycle of the WTC.
Third came India's R Ashwin with 61 wickets.
Lyon's teammates Pat Cummins (57) and Mitchell Starc (55) were the other Australians in the 50-wicket bracket.
