The former Nepal captain achieved the record from 2020-23. He surpassed Lee with the wicket of UAE tailender Zahoor Khan
Former Australian pacer Brett Lee held the previous record of wickets in 26 consecutive innings from 2009-11
Former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop took wickets in 25 innings from 1993-96
For an Asian bowler, the previous record belonged to Afghanistan's Hamid Hassan with wickets in 24 consecutive ODI innings from 2010-15
For India, the record belongs to leg-spinner Anil Kumble who took wickets in 23 consecutive innings from 1997-98
Currently, Sandeep Lamichhane is Nepal's leading wicket-taker in ODIs with 87 wickets from 36 innings at an average of 15.74 including two fifers
