T20 World Cup

The 2022 T20 World Cup will take place in Australia, and with the tournament kicking off in a few days, we take a look at the full squad of Pakistan players!

Babar Azam (C)

The skipper of Pakistan has been in hot and cold form heading into the tournament. He will hope to win his first ICC tournament as Pakistan skipper.

Shadab Khan (VC)

The excellent all-rounder Shadab Khan picked 8 scalps in the Asia Cup averaging 14.13 with career-best figures of 4/8 coming in the match against Hong Kong. 

Mohammad Rizwan (WK)

Mohammad Rizwan was the highest run-getter in Asia Cup 2022 with 281 runs and this run in the T20Is at home against England — 316 runs. 

Asif Ali 

Asif Ali will be Pakistan’s big-hitting batter. Although his batting average of 15.12 isn’t great, he has the ability to hit sixes at will.

Haider Ali who debuted in T20Is way back in 2020 doesn’t boast a good batting average but can play useful cameos. He will compete with Khushdil Shah for the middle-order spot.

Iftikhar Ahmed should be another middle-order batsman for Pakistan in the playing XI. He scored 105 runs in 6 T20Is in Asia Cup 2022 averaging 26.25.

Heading 2

Khushdil Shah

Khushdil Shah has been a run machine in limited-overs cricket in Pakistan's domestic circuit. Shah is raw but can be an impactful player in T20Is.

Mohammad Hasnain broke out ahead of the 2019 World Cup but is yet to live up to his initial potential. In 26 T20Is, he has 25 wickets.

Mohammad Nawaz was the joint 3rd leading wicket-taker with Shadab Khan in the Asia Cup, with 8 scalps in 6 T20Is averaging 13.75 and a best of 3/5.

Teenage pace sensation Naseem Shah made his T20I debut against India in the Asia Cup. He bagged the wickets of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav.

Shaheen Afridi will join the national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 in Brisbane as per schedule on Saturday, 15 October.
