Team India players trained hard on the eve of T20I series opener against Australia in Mohali. All departments of the game were under the focus during the drills.

This will be a crucial series for Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batter worked on his power-hitting in the nets before Mohali T20I.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma worked on his batting in the nets. Rohit was seen donning the new pads and gloves which he will be wearing in the first T20I.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul too was seen donning the light blue pads in the practice session. Rahul's strike rate will be under the scanner in the series.

Fielding

Indian players did fielding drills with tennis ball. India's catching has been under the scanner for a while now as they have dropped most catches among all-member nations.

Deepak Hooda

Hooda is likely to be seen in the middle order or in a finishing role in the series. He was seen attempting big shots in the nets.

Tips from bowling coach

While Hooda's bowling services were not used in Asia Cup 2022, he was seen talking to bowling coach Paras Mhambrey alongside Deepak Chahar.

Chahal's leg spin


Yuzvendra Chahal worked on his variations during the practice session. Chahal will be tested against the likes of Glenn Maxwell and Tim David.

Ashwin under coach's eye

India's veteran off-spinner R Ashwin has been picked in the T20 World Cup squad. Ashwin is currently the second-speciallist spinner in the side.

Hardik Pandya


India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will be crucial as fourth pacer of the team. Pandya has been in good form of late and his batting position has been flexible.

Suryakumar Yadav


Suryakumar was seen practicing his usual 360 degree shots. Suryakumar was seen using ramp and scoop shots with ease.
