Sri Lanka's star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, who played for RCB in IPL 2022, has bore a loss of Rs 96 lakhs.
Hasaranga was supposed to go to England for 'The Hundred' tournament but he was denied NOC from the Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) Board.
Wanindu Hasaranga was signed by the Manchester Originals team at The Hundred and struck a deal of Rs 96 lakhs.
According to the report, SLC Chief Executive Officer Ashley de Silva said that in view of upcoming Asia Cup and T20I World Cup, Hasaranga has been denied the NOC.
The second season of 'The Hundred' is underway from August 3 and Manchester's first match is on Friday (August 5). While the final match will be played on September 3.
In the IPL, he was roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team for a whopping deal of Rs 10.75 crore.
In IPL 2022, Hasaranga has a great season with the ball and snared 26 wickets in 16 matches.
Hasaranga is Sri Lanka's ace spinner and his presence in the upcoming Asia Cup and T20 World Cup will give a big boost to his team.
Hasaranga has so far snared 62 wickets in 38 T20 Internationals for Sri Lanka while 4/9 has been his best spell.
