Kane Williamson has stepped down as New Zealand's Test captain and Tim Southee has been appointed at the helm. 

During his captaincy career, Williamson scripted several memorable wins for New Zealand. 

Williamson led New Zealand in 40 Tests, winning 22 matches and losing 10 games while eight fixtures ended in a draw. 

Under Williamson's captaincy, New Zealand won the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship (WTC). 

As a captain, Williamson's average with the bat was 57 in Test cricket. 

In 22 matches Williamson won as a captain, he averaged 79 with the bat and scored eight centuries. 

Williamson scored 11 centuries in total as the captain of New Zealand's Test team. 

Kane Williamson will go down as one of the best leaders the world cricket has seen.
