Just 7 runs later, the 23-year-old became the fastest Indian to 1000 ODI runs.

Fakhar Zaman tops this list after taking just 18 innings to reach 1000 ODI runs.
Before Shubman Gill, Imam-ul-Haq took 19 innings to reach 1000 ODI runs.
Gill equalled the record previously held by Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq.
Six players took 21 innings to reach 1000 ODI runs.
