Three Indian players are in the race for the Emerging Player of the year at the ICC annual awards.
Arshdeep Singh is the only player among Indians who is a contender for the Emerging Player in the men's category.
Arshdeep is facing challenges from Marco Janson of South Africa, Finn Allen of New Zealand and Ibrahim Zadran of Afghanistan.
Arshdeep has been nominated for this award less than six months after making his international debut.
Among the women cricketers, India's fast bowler Renuka Singh and batter Yastika Bhatia have been nominated.
They will have to compete with Australia's Darcy Brown and England's Alice Capsey.
Renuka Singh has played 29 matches in 2022, taking 40 wickets. Of these, 18 wickets have been taken in ODIs.
Yastika is a middle-order batter. She has scored 376 ODI runs at an average of 25.06. Her strike rate has been 73.29.
ICC have informed that voting for these awards will begin in January.
