India's veteran wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa hung his boot as he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday (September 14).
Announcing his retirement on Twitter, Uthappa said,"It has been my greatest honour to represent my country and my state, Karnataka".
Uthappa played the 1st T20 World Cup for India in 2007 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as India went on to lift the title. He also won the IPL title for CSK with Dhoni.

Uthappa played a total of 205 matches in IPL without captaining any side of the tournament in any of the season.
Ambati Rayudu's name comes second in the list as he played a total of 188 matches in IPL without captaining any side.
South Africa legendary cricketer AB de Villiers played a total of 184 IPL matches without captaining any side.
Irfan Pathan's elder brother Yusuf Pathan also could never captain a side in IPL as he played a total of 174 matches.
Piyush Chawla played a total of 165 matches without captaining any side in the IPL.
