Virat Kohli was reportedly at his home in Gurgaon, giving rise to a plethora of rumours.
Among the reports, was the fact that he was in Delhi to either practice with his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma, or to play the Ranji Trophy!
It has been over a decade since Kohli has played domestic cricket in India.
He has since gone on to great heights with Team India, even captaining the side across all three formats of the game.
His recent form, however, has dwindled, with many critics calling for the former skipper to return and play in the Ranji Trophy to get back his stride.
Kohli's First Class record before the slump is very good.
Barring one in Bangladesh, Kohli scored Test hundreds in and against every country he played.
After just 45 runs across four innings in the two Tests vs Bangladesh, Kohli ends 2022 with an average of just 26.5 in 11 innings.
