Will KL Rahul's maiden-over jinx snatch his opening slot?

KL Rahul's batting has always been a talk of the town. Earlier, due to his lean patch and now his back-to-back fifties in the T20 WC have brought him back in the limelight.

Now KL Rahul is making headlines for his sluggish start. Once again he played the first over maiden against Zimbabwe.

KL Rahul played the first over maiden for the fifth time in T20Is and with this he has played the the most number of first over maiden in men's cricket.

In the T20 World Cup, KL Rahul has played 26 balls in the first over in a total of 5 matches and out of which he has played 21 dot balls. During this he was dismissed once and scored 9 runs.

In 2022, KL Rahul has played 61 balls in the first over in T20Is out of which he has played 42 dots and hit three boundaries.

KL Rahul misfired in the first three matches in the T20 WC 2022 and could not even cross the double figure. He could only score 4, 9, 9 runs in his first three outings.

But Rahul stormed back to his form with back to back fifties. He scored 50 off 32 balls against Bangladesh and 51 runs in 35 balls against Zimbabwe.

KL Rahul played in the same fashion in the 2021 T20 World Cup as well. He failed in the first two matches, then he clobbered three consecutive fifties.
