WPL 2023: Kim Garth — The Australian replacement for Deandra Dottin who almost won Gujarat the game

Kim Garth's remarkable fifer for the Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2023 game vs UP Warriorz almost earned her side an important victory.

The pacer took the 2nd fifer of the tournament after Tara Norris did the same for Delhi Capitals against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Australian was brought into the team after West Indies legend Deandra Dottin was controversially left out of the squad.

She did not play in the opening game vs Mumbai Indians but made her debut in the game vs the Warriorz.

But a point to note here is that Garth is not originally from Australia actually!

She was born on April 25, 1996, in Dublin, and made her ODI and T20I debut for the Irish women's cricket team.

She played for her country for 10 years before switching to Australia.

The 26-year-old earned her maiden Australia cap during the T20I tour of India in December 2022.

She is also a T20 World Cup winner, warming the benches during her country's run to the trophy.
