WPL: Know the numbers game ahead of Women's Premier League's auction

February 7, 2023 BCCI has released the list of 409 players for the Women's Premier League 2023 auction for 1525 players had registered.
The WPL auction will be held on February 13 at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai.
Out of 409 players included in the WPL auction list, 246 are Indians while 163 are foreign players. Also there are players from 8 associate countries who will be participating in the auction.
Out of 409, 202 players have played international cricket. Notably five franchises can bid for a total of 90 players in the WPL auction.
In the auction, each franchise can spend Rs 12 crore on players where a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 18 players can be roped in.
The players who will be going under the hammer in the auction are divided into five different base prices. The base prices will be Rs 50 lakhs, Rs 40 lakhs, Rs 30 lakhs, Rs 20 lakhs and Rs 10 lakhs.
In the list, 24 players have kept themselves at a base price of Rs 50 lakh while 38 players are in the Rs 40 lakh category.
The inaugural season of WPL will be played in Mumbai from March 4 to 26 where a total of 22 matches will be played at DY Patil and Brabourne Stadium.
India's Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Jemima Rodrigues and Renuka Singh have kept themselves at a base price of Rs 50 lakhs.
While India's U-19 women's T20 WC 2023 stars Parshavi Chopra, Archana Devi, Titas Sadhu, Shweta Sehrawat and Mannat Kashyap are in the Rs 10 lakh category.
