Tamim Iqbal became the first Bangladesh batter to score 8,000 runs in the ODI format. Iqbal reached the milestone with a 62-run knock.
Chasing 304, Zimbabwe got off to a poor start as they lost both openers for single-digit scores.
Sikandar Raza remained not out for 135 and guided Zimbabwe to five-wicket win in the penultimate over. He hit 8 fours and 6 sixes in the innings.
This was Zimbabwe’s first win against Bangladesh in ODIs after nine years (19 ODIs).
The last time Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh was in 2013. Opener Vusi Sibanda's 103 and Sean Williams' 55 helped Zimbabwe chase down the target of 248 with 17 balls to spare.
