Defending champions France enter the FIFA World Cup 2022 without two key players in Paul Pogba and Ngolo Kante.
They were among the most dominant teams in 2018, remaining unbeaten till the end, with just one draw to their name.
Drawn in Group C alongside Australia, Peru and Denmark, it was actually a straight-forward road to the Round of 16.
France beat Australia 2-1 and Peru 1-0 before a 0-0 draw with Denmark having already reached the knockouts.
In the knockouts, France faced their biggest challenges.
First, they bested Argentina in a 4-3 thriller in the Round of 16, in what was a tightly contested game.
Then they beat Uruguay comfortably by two goals, before a hard-fought 1-0 win over Belgium.
In that game, Samuel Umtiti scored the only strike of the match.
The final was once again a one-sided affair, beating a spirited Croatia side 4-2 to win their second World Cup trophy
