Ireland's Joshua Little bagged a hat-trick during his team's Super 12 match against New Zealand in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

It was the second hat trick in the ongoing tournament and a special one that takes him to the top of a prestigious list!

Little has now broken the record for the most men's T20I wickets in a calendar year!

He now has 39 wickets in 2022, overtaking former Nepal spinner Sandeep Lamichhane's 38 wickets in the same year.

Making it to third is Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga, who scalped 36 wickets in 2021.

Joining the bowling all-round in third place in Tabraiz Shamsi, with the South African also bagging 36 wickets in 2021.

Little's hat-trick stemmed the flow of New Zealand's batting, restricting them to 186 runs.

But the Kiwi bowlers kept their Irish opponents down to 150 runs to inch even closer to a semi-final sport.
